What’s up Beautiful?
In Psalm 27:4, a Psalm of David, he writes that one thing that he desires of the Lord is that he may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life. So my question is ‘what are we asking the Lord for?”
Do we ask for victory over our enemies, deliverance from a horrible boss, escape from bad friends, more money, a spouse or good health??? All of these things are very relevant, and perhaps of the utmost importance, but David wanted “to behold the beauty of the Lord and to enquire in his temple.”
Matthew 6:33 tells us to first seek the kingdom of God as well as His righteousness; and all these (other things that we want) will be given to us. Then we have Colossians 3:2 which instructs us to set our mind on the things above and not on the things on earth.
So how do we balance our secular wants, pursuits, and desires while seeking the kingdom of God and working for His glory and not our own??? What are you really asking the Lord for when you pray? And does it align with His Word?
Write back and as always – Be blessed!!!
