It’s Not who you want but it’s who God wants

In 1 Samuel 16 we read that Samuel is meeting with Jesse to select one of his sons to be the next king of Israel. Jesse recommends all of his sons except one and that’s David who is not in the house with the others but ratting the fields tending to his sheep. In verse 10 Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel but Samuel tells Jesse about each son that “The Lord hath not chosen these.” But finally when David is brought in, the Lord tells Samuel “Arise, anoint Him: for this is he.” Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him [in the midst of his brothers] “and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward.”

So you see Beautiful, it’s not about who you want but it’s who God has chosen and anointed!
