Is It Okay for Christians To Desire Fame and Wealth?

Is the desire for fame and wealth a sin for Christians?

We can’t help but notice the beauty and privilege of fame and/or money on the TV, radio, big screen, and social media. Stars, celebrities, and others seem to have the best of everything from cars, clothes, beautiful homes, exotic vacations, access, and even posh cuisine. Who wouldn’t want wealth? But as we strive to walk with Jesus, who by no means had excessive material wealth, then are Christians who work hard to attain money and a better life, living as contradiction to the Christian values?

Timothy urged women to not wear gold and excessive hair. But he was talking about the heart and not let money be a barrier to the poor.

Job wealthy but devout in prayer and belief.

Solomon asked for wisdom but bestowed riches with it.

Jesus had no place to lay his head

Told chosen disciples to leave their livelihoods

Joseph 2nd under Pharaoh used position to save father and brothers from famine

Rich Arimes man use tomb to bury Jesus

Young rich man asked to give up wealth to follow Jesus but did not

Rich man soul required that night

Rich man would not share crumbs

Rich men walked around the Good Samaritan but another paid for room

Men with money would not help lame man and disciplines told him we have no gold and silver but blessings

So perhaps not abou money because we are to multiple are talents book of Matthew. Told in proverbs or psalms that if in riches increase that’s ok but not trust in them

Women in proverbs bought land, sold sashes to merchants

Nots what’s in your wallet but what’s in your heart.
